Mysterious spinning top

The secret revealed: the spinning top contains a small magnet. As this magnet moves past the center of the black base, the top’s magnetic field induces a current in a coil, which closes a switch, allowing a battery to instantly activate a small electromagnet. The spinning top increases its speed and spins away from the center of the base.

The mechanics are well protected and the screen is sharp, but the ball must land on a soft surface such as a pad/mat/turf. Maximum drop height is approx. 12 m, friction against air is about 5%.
