Electricity and magnetism

A self-contained unit allowing students to study the effect of current and number of coils on the strength of an electromagnet.

This system provides a simple and effective method of studying Faraday’s Law. An acrylic tube supports an easily moved coil so that a small cylindrical magnet (supplied) can be dropped down the tube to generate a pulse of electricity as it passes through. An oscilloscope is used to monitor the pulse and measure its amplitude.

An ergonomically designed sliding contact for use with the Resistance Wire Boards or Potentiometers. Constructed from black nylon with a brass spade contact at the lower end. Connection is by 4mm socket at the top.

A pack of 5 convenient and appropriately rated mounted components to enable students to carry out an experiment to determine the EMF and internal resistance of a cell.
