This unique model shows the kinetochores oriented to the outside of the chromosome, as well as the slightly irregular surface of the chromatids. Also shown are the chromatin loops coiled on the inside of the chromosome and the supported or imposed proteins. The lower section of the chromatid is exposed to reveal the chromatin.
