Velocity of Sound
This apparatus provides a test bed for investigations into the characteristics of sound waves. A sensitive microphone on a linear scale allows for measurements to be taken along the path of the wave emanating from a small loudspeaker acting as the sound generator.
The loudspeaker requires a standard signal generator and analysis is best carried out using a modern dual beam oscilloscope, either conventional or PC.
