Description

You can connect the microphone directly to our digital counter, the student timer, Pasco’s digital adapter and analog inputs.

Through a battery box, you can use it with an oscilloscope or an AC voltmeter.

The microphone can be used to determine the speed of sound or to investigate the tones and overtones of musical instruments.

The microphone is supplied with a Ø 10 mm mounting post and full instructions, but WITHOUT cables.

To obtain 100 % the same functionality as the previous model (Microphone 248510):
• Combine 248600 with the cable 248601 (DIN-6). With the 6-pin DIN cable, you will have an analog mike, compatible with (old) battery box 251560, counter 200250 and student timer 200280.

Other cables make new applications possible.

More analog microphone combinations – typically for display and analysis of sound waveforms:
• Our new Battery Box 251580 ships with one cable 197571 (modular plug) that plugs directly into the microphone. The microphone signal is accessible on the two 4 mm safety sockets on the battery box.
• Cable 248602 (DIN-5) fits both our (old) battery box 251560 and the analog inputs of Pasco’s interfaces.

Digital microphone combinations – typically, two microphones are used for measuring the speed of sound:
• Cable 197571 (modular plug) connects the microphone to the SpeedGate 197570. Yes, the SpeedGate is actually a universal digital timer that just happen to have a dual beam photogate built in. One cable is included with the SpeedGate.
• Cable 512560 (6 mm Jack plug) results in a digital microphone to use with our counter 200250 or

Pasco’s digital adapter PS-2159 – or one of their interfaces.
• Cable 248608 (BTD plug) fits the digital inputs of Vernier’s dataloggers

The manual presents application examples in more detail.
