GM tube on post, BNC connector
Standard GM tube with a BNC plug, sensitive to alpha, beta and gamma radiation.
Provided with a steel rod for mounting.
Supplied with a removable protective cap for the delicate mica window.
For all gamma ray experiments, the cap can stay on.
Beta radiation penetrates the cap to some degree.
Remove it for quantitative measurements.
When used with alpha radiation, the cap must always be removed; use short distances to the source, like 5 mm.
