Description

PASCO’s Wireless Thermocouple with Display greatly expands the measurement range of our line of temperature-sensing products. This Thermocouple expands our standard thermometers from -40 to +125 ºC now up to -200 to +1400ºC. Packaged with a 60 cm type K thermocouple, its small thermal mass responds quickly to changes in temperature. This is ideal to record the outside surfaces of metal containers with reactions or heat exchange processes. Experiments can be monitored down to temperatures of solutions cooled by commercial freezers (-30ºC), dry ice (-78.5ºC), or even evaporating liquid nitrogen (-196ºC). Students can also use this sensor to measure up to the heat of stove elements, matches, and non-optimized Bunsen burners. Note: An optimal fuel-to-oxygen Bunsen flame can get hot enough to damage the tip of the type K sensor. The tip of the inner blue flame is close to the melting temperature of the solder used in the sensor.
