Product Details
Round electrode, zinc
A zinc electrode with a diameter of 6–7 mm is a round rod made of zinc. It has a length of 150 mm and is designed to fit into standard rubber stoppers with a hole. The electrode is compatible with electrode holders no. FR-451510 and FR-451520 and electrode contact no. FR-451300, making it easy to incorporate into various experimental setups.
Description
Use of the product
In science classes, the zinc electrode is often used in electrolysis experiments and galvanic cells, where students can investigate voltage differences between different metal electrodes and see how electrical energy can be generated from chemical reactions. For example, it can be included in a simple battery together with a copper electrode, where students can measure the voltage and discuss what happens at the ionic level. Zinc electrodes thus provide a concrete introduction to topics such as redox reactions, electrochemistry and energy conversion.
Zinc electrodes are used in more advanced electrochemical studies, e.g. in connection with corrosion studies or materials analysis.
