Planetarium, mini model
The Planetarium mini model is an educational and fascinating representation of the solar system, where students can observe the movements of the planets and the Moon around the Sun.
Description
The planets are mounted on movable arms that can rotate, and the Moon can move around the Earth. The Sun is illuminated by a built-in 3.5 V / 0.3 A bulb, which provides a visual effect that supports the understanding of the dynamics of the solar system. Please note that Pluto is no longer included, as it is officially designated as a dwarf planet. The Sun diameter is 3.8 cm and the Sun-Neptune distance is 19 cm
Comes with battery holder and bulb (requires 2 AA batteries, not included)
Use of the product
In teaching, the model is a powerful visual tool for demonstrating basic astronomical concepts such as the day/night cycle, the phases of the moon, the orbits of the planets and the structure of the solar system. It makes it easier for students to understand otherwise abstract topics such as the change of seasons or the relationship between rotation and revolution. A practical tip is to have students use the model in combination with sketches and observations of the night sky to connect theory and practice.
In practice, planetarium models are used in astronomy education, museums and science centers to communicate the mechanics of the solar system to a wide audience. They serve as an accessible alternative to digital simulations and are particularly useful in situations where a tactile and visual demonstration provides better learning outcomes.
