Geology field kit
The Carolina Geology Field Kit supports field work in geology. The kit contains all the necessary tools for identifying and analyzing minerals and rocks. The kit includes a waterproof case, porcelain plate for testing streak color, a glass plate, a plastic piece, a copper coin and nail for hardness determination, a laminated hardness scale, a magnet, a magnifying glass and a dropper bottle for hydrochloric acid (note, hydrochloric acid is not included). In addition, the kit includes an English manual and a notebook for recording field observations.
Description
Use of the product
The field kit can be used in geography and science/technology, and provides students with hands-on experience with geological processes and the properties of rocks. Students can first collect different rocks and then use the kit’s tools to determine the rocks’ hardness, magnetism and chemical reactions.
