Electrolysis tank with syringes

The electrolysis vessel consists of a cylindrical chamber in acrylic with two graphite electrodes mounted in the bottom. The vessel has an internal dimension of ø 73 mm . The top is designed with two clamps that can each hold a syringe where the produced gas is collected and can later be tapped for further identification.

The vessel is used for experiments with electrolysis, where hydrogen and oxygen can be produced from a liquid, typically a 1 M dilute sulfuric acid solution as electrolyte. Maximum supply voltage for the electrolysis is 5 V DC, connected via safety sockets. External dimensions are Ø 90 x 100 mm.

Please note that graphite electrodes are porous and cannot withstand shock or twisting.

Use of the product

The electrolysis vessel is used in physics and chemistry lessons to demonstrate the electrolysis process, where students can detect and collect hydrogen and oxygen. It provides a practical understanding of electrolysis and energy conversion, which can be linked to topics on renewable energy and fuel cell technology.
