Description

The instrument is mounted on a solid base and can be easily adjusted so that the needle works either in the vertical or horizontal plane. It can therefore be used both as a regular magnetic needle and for more advanced experiments. Two safety sockets allow you to connect power so that you can demonstrate the electromagnetic field that arises. The needle has a length of 90 mm, and the instrument measures 200 mm in height and 150 mm in width.

Use of the product

In physics lessons, the declination and inclination needle can be used to illustrate the Earth’s magnetic field and to determine the direction and inclination of magnetic fields. Students can experiment with electromagnetism by connecting current and observing how the magnetic needle reacts to the artificially created field. The instrument provides good opportunities to work with key concepts such as field strength, direction and polarization.

In technical and scientific environments, the instrument can be used to demonstrate magnetic fields in connection with electrical circuits or the magnetic properties of materials. It may also be relevant in education within geology where understanding the Earth’s magnetic field plays a role.
