Friction rods, set
Set of 7 different rods for demonstrating static electricity by rubbing a piece of cloth or leather. The rods have a length of between 140 – 200 mm and a diameter of between 8.4 – 12.2 mm.

Use of the product
In physics lessons, the rods are used to demonstrate static electricity and electric charge. When the rods are rubbed with a cloth or skin, they become electrically charged, and students can investigate the effects, for example how small strips of paper are attracted, or how the rods can deflect a jet of water. The variety of materials also allows for comparison of the effect of rubbing on the material in relation to electric forces, charge and attraction/repulsion between electrically charged objects.
